The Accountability Group (TAG) provides professional development in governance for boards and senior leaders across sectors that readies them for addressing contemporary issues with a whole systems approach. TAG is a leader in advancing the regenerative governance perspective.

Regenerative governance (RG) is a living system perspective that grafts onto conventional governance to support transition from “business as usual” towards thriveable futures. Based in Toronto, Canada, TAG networks with local, national, and global expertise to support our clients.

For Boards and Senior Leaders

We offer consultation, workshops, resources, and collaboration with other advisers who work with boards. Our focus is threefold:

  1. Anticipating the board’s strategic role in complex systems;
  2. Developing the skills and perspectives for effective dialogue, and;
  3. Introducing regenerative governance and connecting with systems expertise.

Regenerative governance is an essential 21st century board shift to enable adaptation and prioritize long-term sustainability and whole systems vitality.

Lyn McDonell MA, FCMC, C. Dir.

Principal of The Accountability Group, Lyn has served as CEO, COO, Board Chair, and Director. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Certified Management Consultants of Ontario and a Chartered Director. An experienced facilitator and adjunct faculty at York University, Lyn applies systems thinking to organizations and is active in communities of governance and regenerative practice.

Lyn is a contributor to The Handbook of Board Governance: A Comprehensive Guide for Public, Private, and Not-for-Profit Board Members, 2nd (2020) and 3rd (2024) Editions. (Wiley). Richard Leblanc (Editor).
